Mass. man will go to prison for role in conspiracy to steal COVID relief funds

A Plymouth man pleaded guilty to COVID-19 pandemic unemployment fraud and will see prison time in the House of Corrections, Inspector General Jeffrey Shapiro’s office announced Thursday. Aaron Fernandes, 43, pleaded guilty to three counts of larceny over $1200, two counts of unemployment fraud, one count of identity fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit larceny, Shapiro’s office said in a statement.
