Mariners hit 2 home runs, overcome Braves' 4 homers
Luke Raley and J.P. Crawford homered in Seattle’s five-run sixth inning, and the Mariners snapped Atlanta’s winning streak after falling behind 4-0.
On Monday, the Seattle Mariners rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat the Atlanta Braves 5-4, with Crawford hitting a decisive two-run homer in the sixth inning.
The Braves took a 4-0 lead after four solo home runs from Drake Baldwin, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, and Matt Olson, whose blast marked his 300th career home run.
Mariners starter Logan Gilbert allowed four solo homers but earned the win, while relievers Jose Ferrer, Eduard Bazardo, and Andres Munoz combined for three scoreless innings.
Braves rookie Ritchie pitched effectively through five innings before Luke Raley's three-run homer ended his night, and Tyler Kinley surrendered Crawford's go-ahead shot.
The victory snapped Seattle's three-game losing streak and halted Atlanta's three-game winning streak; the series continues Tuesday as George Kirby faces Bryce Elder.
