Sunday the cross circus will descend on Besançon, eastern France, for the World Cup. The women will be looking forward to the comeback of former world champion Marianne Vos. Her last cross was in Benidorm in 2023.

Cyclocross rider Fem van Empel has once again won the World Cup race in Besançon, France, with a large margin. The world champion from Visma - Lease a Bike rode the entire race in the lead on the slippery course and steadily increased her lead. Compatriot Lucinda Brand finished second, 37 seconds behind, while Hungarian Blanka Vas came in third, just over a minute behind.

Veldrijdster Fem van Empel heeft met opnieuw veel overmacht de wereldbekerwedstrijd in het Franse Besançon gewonnen. De wereldkampioene van Visma - Lease a Bike reed de hele rit over het gladde parcours aan kop en bouwde haar voorsprong gestaag uit. Landgenote Lucinda Brand finishte op 37 seconden als tweede, de Hongaarse Blanka Vas werd derde op ruim een minuut.
