- On November 17, 2025, Statistics Canada reported manufacturing sales rose 3.3 per cent to $72.1 billion in September, their highest level since February, driven by gains in auto and energy.
- Transportation equipment subsector gains 9.2 per cent, with motor vehicles up 11.8 and aerospace products and parts up 13 as Ontario auto assembly plants resumed full production after summer shutdowns and retooling; petroleum and coal subsector increased 5.3 per cent following August refinery maintenance shutdowns.

- Market implications include Bradley Saunders cautioning inventories ticked down, stating `'This will help stir some confidence in a sector which has faced a string of bad news recently, with new U.S. tariffs imposed on trucks and buses and a handful of manufacturers announcing plans to shift parts of production south of the border.'`
- Wholesale data suggest wholesale sales excluding certain petroleum and grain items rose 0.6 per cent in volume terms, and Saunders noted upside risks to StatCan's preliminary 0.1 per cent month-over-month growth estimate.
