NYC Doctor Abused Patients During Medical Exams, DA Says

Prosecutors say he touched the patients over their clothing during massages in exam rooms, and the investigation remains ongoing.

  • Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced Tuesday that neurologist Tariq Lamki, 51, was indicted for allegedly sexually abusing two patients at 14th Street Medical Arts.
  • Prosecutors allege Lamki touched the two patients, aged 32 and 23, over their clothing during appointments on Aug. 25 and Sept. 2 while they lay on an exam table.
  • A Manhattan Criminal Court judge ordered Lamki held on $25,000 bail after he was charged with two counts each of first-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, and third-degree sexual abuse.
  • The Manhattan District Attorney and NYPD Detective Steven Clarke are continuing the investigation, urging anyone assaulted by a doctor to contact the Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau at 212-335-4308.
  • Seeking to identify additional victims, the NYPD released images of Lamki on Wednesday and encouraged the public to call the Sex Crimes Hotline at 212-267-7273 or Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
