B.C. Jury Finds Adam Mann Guilty in 2024 Home-Invasion Murder of Tori Dunn
Prosecutors said forensic evidence and surveillance tied Adam Troy Mann to the killing, and the case renewed calls for bail reform.
A jury in New Westminster, British Columbia, convicted Adam Mann of second-degree murder on Wednesday for the June 2024 killing of Tori Dunn during a home invasion in Surrey.
Evidence presented to the court tied Mann to the scene, including his DNA on a knife handle that also carried Dunn's blood, used to stab her four times in Port Kells on June 16, 2024.
Testifying in his own defense, Mann claimed, "It wasn't me," alleging he found the knife and cellphone nearby. Prosecutors dismissed his account as "vague, improbable and inconsistent," prosecutor Tim Livingston said.
The conviction triggered widespread calls for bail reform, as Mann was released on bail for an unrelated aggravated assault charge when the fatal incident occurred in 2024.
Facing a mandatory life sentence with parole ineligibility between 10 and 25 years, Mann returns to court on October 29 to set a sentencing date following decades of violent convictions, including a 12-year sentence in 2009.
