Man, 36, arrested six years on from double murder
Police say the arrest follows a six-year investigation, and a £50,000 reward remains available for information leading to a conviction.
On Saturday, a 36-year-old man was transported to Stansted Airport after being detained in Turkey in connection with the June 2020 double murder of Junior Ajose, 36, and Cheriff Tall, 21, in Manchester's Moss Side.
The victims, who did not know each other, were fatally shot in a car park off Caythorne Street during a lockdown party on June 21, 2020, with an estimated 300 to 400 people present.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson from the Major Incident Team said the arrest demonstrates "unwavering commitment to securing justice," noting six years of analyzing evidence and pursuing every opportunity to identify those responsible.
Greater Manchester Police continue to seek eyewitness accounts from the estimated 300 to 400 people present that night, maintaining a £50,000 reward for information leading to the killer's conviction.
Officers have questioned several individuals and seized mobile phones as part of ongoing investigations, while the force continues to appeal for information to establish the full circumstances and identify any outstanding suspects.
