Hunt for killer after man shot dead in London
A 26-year-old man was fatally shot in a white Nissan Juke; police are seeking a suspect who arrived and left on a bike and urge witnesses to come forward.
- On Saturday night, a 26-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in a white Nissan Juke near Euston station in central London, the Metropolitan Police said. He died at the scene in Chalton Street despite paramedic efforts.
- CCTV footage showed a suspect arriving and departing on a bike, firing several shots at the vehicle; Emergency services were called at around 11pm after loud gunshots were heard.
- Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke is leading the investigation into the shooting. The victim's next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
- Yorke said, "We are aware of the concern that this will cause for the local community," urging witnesses to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers, quoting CAD 8032/28Mar.
