Hunt for killer after man shot dead in London
A murder investigation is ongoing after a 26-year-old was shot several times while sitting in his car; police urge public to call Crimestoppers with information.
On Saturday night, a 26-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in a white Nissan Juke near Euston station in central London, the Metropolitan Police said. He died at the scene in Chalton Street despite paramedic efforts.
CCTV footage showed a suspect arriving and departing on a bike, firing several shots at the vehicle; Emergency services were called at around 11pm after loud gunshots were heard.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke is leading the investigation into the shooting. The victim's next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Yorke said, "We are aware of the concern that this will cause for the local community," urging witnesses to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers, quoting CAD 8032/28Mar.
