Make It 16 case succeeds in the Supreme Court

A ruling in the Supreme Court this morning has declared that it is inconsistent with the Bill of Rights Act 1990 to prevent 16 and 17-year-olds from voting. The case, brought by advocacy group Make It 16, had failed in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. In August, parliament passed an amendment which means it has a legal obligation to review the ruling.
