Major UK fashion retailer shuts down website after entering administration
Administrators said online orders are closed while 22 stores and concessions were left out of the sale and remain at risk.
- Bennett shut down its Website on Tuesday, displaying a message: "Website and phone order now closed- Shop in store for a limited time."
- After entering Administration earlier this year, Bennett's brand and intellectual property were sold to Gordon Brothers, which also owns Laura Ashley and Poundland, excluding nine stand-alone and 13 concession stores.
- Online items were reduced by up to 80% ahead of the shutdown, as Bennett said "There are some truly exceptional offers available across all categories."
- The nine stand-alone and 13 concession locations continue to trade under the Administration, overseen by joint administrators John Noon and Mark Firmin of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP, though they remain at risk of closing.
- Customers can still access the Website for information on returns, size guides, and store locations, while orders already placed will be processed as normal during the transition.
