Major UK cycling company closes after 22 years as it enters administration
The Bristol-based distributor supplied Cannondale, Castelli and Sidi before collapsing, and about 42 staff lost their jobs, The Times reported.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, Bristol-based cycling distributor Saddleback ceased operations after 22 years in business, confirming via email it is "no longer operational."
Falling into administration, Saddleback has "filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators," according to TheBusinessDesk, triggering the company's closure.
Around 42 staff members lost their jobs following the collapse, which served as the official UK home for cycling brands including Cannondale and Castelli.
Widespread store closures have marked 2026 for the UK high street, with major retailers including LK Bennett and Claire's entering administration after closing all locations.
Despite the retail turmoil, the landscape remains mixed; major brands including Aldi and Superdrug continue announcing new store openings for 2026.
