Major Crime Unit investigating death in Fort St. James

On Monday, Police launched a homicide investigation into the death of a 77-year-old man at a residence in Fort James, with the Major Crime Unit heading the probe.
James RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 800 block of Spruce Road at 2:40 a.m. Monday, finding the victim with serious injuries.
Frontline officers discovered the victim with serious injuries; Emergency Health Services personnel transported him to hospital in critical condition, where he died despite life-saving efforts.
Described as an isolated and targeted incident, the Major Crime Unit investigation continues as suspects fled the area before police arrived, with inquiries ongoing.
