- After returning home in pain, she developed breathing difficulty and was hospitalised; the girl's mother said she complained of severe neck and back pain on November 8, while Vasai education officer Sonali Matekar confirmed a preliminary report naming Mamta Yadav, teacher, for making students do sit-ups.
- Waliv Police have registered an accidental death report and await the post-mortem before deciding further action, while the local education department has initiated an inquiry into the incident.
