M&S brings back iconic St Michael label in major fashion collaboration with Aries
The 26-piece range reworks archive motifs into streetwear and starts at £10, as nostalgia for the label grows online and in resale markets.
On Thursday, August 20, Marks and Spencer launches a collection in collaboration with London streetwear label Aries, reviving the historic Michael label through 26 pieces spanning womenswear, menswear and accessories.
Michael served as the retailer's own-brand label for more than 70 years before being discontinued in 2000 as part of a modernization effort. The label has since gained renewed popularity through vintage shopping and resale platforms.
Aries founder Sofia Prantera raided the M&S archive to create the collection, blending heritage crests and the iconic Spencer Bear motif with contemporary streetwear aesthetics, including pinstripe tailoring, hoodies and graphic sweatshirts.
The collection will be available online and in selected Marks and Spencer stores from August 20, with prices ranging from £10 to £150, making designer-inspired pieces accessible beyond typical luxury collaboration pricing.
Growing nostalgia for vintage fashion among younger shoppers has driven demand for Michael pieces through resale platforms and social media, positioning this collaboration as both heritage revival and accessible entry point to designer streetwear.
