Luka Doncic Sitting Out Lakers’ Visit to Clippers with Back Tightness
- On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers ruled out superstar guard Luka Doncic for their game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Intuit Dome due to back tightness.
- The Lakers are being cautious with Doncic during the second game of a back-to-back set as the team plays five games in seven days, reported The Athletic's Dan Woike.
- Doncic scored 41 points in Tuesday's 136-129 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, playing 39 minutes; Lakers starting forward Ziaire Williams is also sidelined with left foot soreness.
- Opposing the Lakers, the Clippers will be without forward Rui Hachimura due to left quad soreness, forcing Kobe Sanders to make his first start of the season.
- Coach JJ Redick is expected to provide an update before the game, though there is no long-term worry regarding Doncic's injury, according to Woike.
