The Valencian Luis Planas Puchades, former Labour Inspector, former ambassador of Spain to Morocco and the European Union and one of the possible candidates to lead the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) from 2027, has become Wednesday the most long-standing minister of agriculture in democracy, after exceeding the 3,023 days that the socialist Carlos Romero occupied in the same square between 1982 and 1991.
