Commuters Face Second Day of Delays on Jubilee Line
Faulty trains and a track fault caused severe delays and suspensions on multiple London Underground lines, forcing some passengers to walk through tunnels, TfL said.
Today , severe delays hit the Jubilee line, with commuters facing a second day of disruption after a faulty train stalled services on September 1; the Piccadilly line also suffers delays from a track fault at South Kensington.
The problems stemmed from an incident train plus a faulty train at Waterloo, with the District line and Mildmay line part suspended after a passenger fell ill on a train at Gunnersbury Park.
Passengers reported being held underground for up to three hours and some walked through tunnels guided by station and onboard staff, while social media footage showed crammed, dark carriages; Transport for London apologised and said engineers are working to restore service.
TfL is allowing tickets on alternative services including London Buses, Elizabeth line, DLR, Thameslink, and Southeastern services, with normal service expected by 8.00 and delays up to 10 minutes possible.
Despite engineers removing the broken train, the Jubilee line remained part suspended into the evening with no service between Green Park and London Bridge, and delays expected until the end of the day while some other routes reopened after late engineering works.
