MEXICALI, B.C, JANUARY 4, 2026.- Congressman Jaime Eduardo Canton Rocha presented an initiative to reform the Environmental Protection Law, by which he proposes to replace the term “satisfactory” with “acceptable”, as established by the Mexican Official Standard (NOM), in order to update the terminology of the air quality standard.
Replacing the "satisfactory" category with "acceptable" updates the state classification according to the technical criteria of the NOM
