Lions Set to Face Bills in Thursday Night Football Kickoff Matchup
Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced Monday that the Detroit Lions will play their Week 10 game in Munich, Germany, on November 15 as part of a triple-header broadcast.
This marks the Lions' third international appearance; Lions president and CEO Rod Wood stated in March the team likely will not receive a bye week following the trip due to Thanksgiving's proximity.
Separately, the Buffalo Bills will host the Lions for their home opener on September 17 at the new Highmark Stadium, which kicks off Amazon Prime Video's 'Thursday Night Football' schedule.
Stepping into the new open-air venue, the Bills intend to showcase the $2 billion facility holding about 60,000 fans, replacing their former home used since 1973.
The NFL will reveal its full 18-week regular-season schedule this Thursday, May 14, at 8 p.m. ET, though broadcasters continue leaking select matchups during upfront presentations.
