Lidl Makes Major Change Amid the Roll Out of Brand New Initiative
Lidl's Live Well logo appears on 100+ products meeting nutrition and sustainability standards, with a goal of 10% own-label items certified by 2030.
- Later this year, Lidl GB will roll out the Live Well logo in UK stores, initially on more than 100 own-label products to help customers identify healthy and sustainable options.
- Responding to consumer demand, research commissioned by Lidl and the Planetary Alliance found more than three-quarters of UK consumers want help identifying healthy products, while Lidl builds on its Planetary Health Diet commitment by 2050.
- To carry the Live Well logo, products must meet BNF-approved nutrition criteria, align with the Planetary Health Diet including at least one authorised health claim, and satisfy sustainability standards like LEAF certification and 100% recyclable packaging.
- Lidl committed to having 10% of its own-label food products meet Live Well criteria by 2030, with Lidl GB as the first UK discounter to add sustainability to its health marker.
- With over 980 Lidl stores across the UK, Richard Bourns, Lidl GB Chief Commercial Officer, said the Live Well project can deliver genuine impact toward the Government's new food strategy at pace and scale.
