Ever since I took a civics class in high school, I’ve subscribed to a newspaper, knowing that it provided honest reporting which is so vital to an informed public. But some days, it gets hard to read. And so I discovered Monika Spykerman’s columns under “Lifestyle.” She is, like me, a lazy cook and tries shortcuts that often, like me, are disastrous.
