On September 26, 2019, a gigantic fire affected the Lubrizol site in Rouen. Nearly 10,000 tons of chemicals had been released into the atmosphere.
In a joint message, several elected officials from the city denounced “the lack of foresight on the necessary ecological transition of this industry”, and the relocation of part of production.
Lubrizol France announces the elimination of nearly half of the employees on its site in Rouen (Seine-Maritime), as part of a reorganization of its activities. If the company justifies this decision by economic difficulties, the elected officials of the Rouen Normandy Metropolis express their support for the employees.
