Laufey Created a ‘Third Space’ with Her Annual Fan Event, ‘A Very Laufey Day.’ Then It Exploded
The fourth annual event adds arts itineraries, museum partnerships and select film screenings as Laufey aims to make cultural spaces more accessible.
On August 23, 2026, Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter Laufey will host the fourth annual "A Very Laufey Day," featuring experiences in 75 cities across 25 countries centered on the theme "A Celebration of the Arts."
Laufey launched the initiative in 2023 to encourage fans to discover "third spaces" like museums and cafes, aiming to bridge the gap between younger audiences and "so-called high cultural experiences," she said.
The Grammy-winning artist partnered with global institutions like the Guggenheim and Tate Modern, while Mansfield, Ohio, will host its first local celebration at the Mansfield Art Center featuring an exclusive exhibit.
Fans known as "Lauvers" will participate in activities ranging from symphony performances to theater screenings, including a free showing of "A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl" at The Renaissance Theatre.
Expanding significantly since its inception, the event has become a community-building opportunity where fans dress in vintage outfits, designed to make cultural spaces that some younger audiences find intimidating feel more welcoming.
