Large police presence gathers in Hopkins neighborhood
On Wednesday, police responded to a domestic incident at Brown Bear Daycare in Hopkins, Minnesota, where three people—a man, woman, and child—were found dead inside the home.
Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson stated officers arrived shortly after nine a.m. at the 200 block of Tyler Avenue North; Johnson believes the incident was isolated with the perpetrator among the deceased.
Six other children present during the incident were uninjured, and officers successfully reunited them with their families, Johnson confirmed to reporters at the scene.
Authorities blocked Tyler Street between 2nd Street and Lake Street to facilitate the investigation, while an officer described the ongoing scene as "very volatile" to reporters.
Officials have not yet released details regarding the specific nature of the violence, though police anticipate holding a press briefing at four p.m. Wednesday to provide further information.
