The large electricity companies (Iberdrola, Endesa, Naturgy and EDP) have confirmed that 83.4% of their networks are saturated, which prevents them from meeting the new electricity demand, and they cannot provide more connections. This is reflected in the capacity maps published on Tuesday, September 9, by UFD (Naturgy) and the Association of Electrical Energy Companies (Aelec), to which Endesa, Iberdrola and EDP Spain belong.

The first map with homogenous criteria on the capacity of the various electricity nodes, to indicate to consumers of all kinds where they could request a supply point, has shown that the distribution network is "saturated", with 83.4% of its points not able to admit new customers, among which could be large companies, data centers, industries or refueling points of vehicles in search of more electricity to replace their fossil fuels.
