Louise Mountbatten-Windsor earned an English degree and will take a gap year before exploring career options, while joining 3 family members as Gold Award holders.
On Thursday, July 2, Lady Louise Windsor graduated from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, attending the ceremony.
The 22-year-old followed her cousin Prince William in attending the Scottish university where he famously met Princess Kate, and she is not expected to take on full-time royal duties.
During the ceremony, the graduate was announced as "Louise Mountbatten-Windsor," opting against using her royal title, consistent with her parents' decision that she and her brother, James, Earl of Wessex, would not adopt "Her Royal Highness" styles.
Following the completion of her four-year degree, the 17th in line to the throne plans to embark on a gap year combining work, volunteering, and travel.
On Friday, she will receive the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award from Prince Edward at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, marking a milestone in the youth adventure scheme founded by her grandfather, Prince Philip.
