The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is warning residents of the risks of the synthetic opioid cychlorphine (also known as N-propionitrile chlorphine) after the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner recently identified the drug as a cause of death that occurred in February 2026.
Los Angeles County public health officials reported the first death by the opioid called cyclorphine.
