Distributing heroin to severely addicted people will become a permanent service in Oslo and Bergen. Liberal Party member Mette Vabø is demanding that the service be established in Stavanger as well.
After a nearly five-year pilot project, the government is introducing heroin-assisted treatment (HAB) in Oslo and Bergen as a permanent service. Free heroin as a health service costs one million kroner per patient per treatment year. 65 million kroner has been allocated for the project in 2026.
