The film tells the story of Ukrainians from Canada and the United States, who in 1991 come to the still Soviet Ukraine in order to win the independence competition for their homeland. The tape will combine personal stories, archival materials and eyewitness testimony.
The filming of the full-length documentary “Distance to Independence” began in Kyiv. The film is being worked on by the “Real Story” team of Akim Galimov and the production of Be Brave FILMS by Anna Palenchuk.
