- The NYPD released surveillance stills and described the alleged gunman as a male with medium complexion, last seen wearing black and carrying a black bookbag; he fired two shots, fled east on West 38 Street, then escaped in a BMW while a silver Mercedes-Benz also fled.
- Several New York Jets teammates urged prayers and support; Jeremy Ruckert said, `He just had a child, and you know, you think about those people in his life, and pray for him and his family, and hopefully everything will be all right,` while Mayor Eric Adams also prayed for Boyd and his loved ones.
- Authorities urged anyone with information to contact NYPD Crimestoppers by messaging @nypdtip or calling 1-800-577-TIPS , describing the suspect fleeing eastbound on West 38 Street.
