The Wiener Klimt-Foundation is happy about a private donation. Previously unknown work photographs in connection with Klimt's early work now enrich the collection of the non-profit research institution, which was announced on Wednesday in a publication. The photographs were taken between 1883 and 1891 and document commissioned paintings of the "Artist Compagnie", which included Gustav and his brother Ernst Klimt as well as Franz Matsch.
The pieces given include reproductions of decorative paintings executed between 1883 and 1891 by the so-called Künstler-Compagnie, the collective workshop composed by the famous author of El Beso, his brother Ernst and his colleague Franz Matsch.
