Kings of Leon Ditched Songwriting 'Tricks' for New Album
The band says the stripped-back album was reworked after a canceled tour, with Caleb Followill calling it their most honest record yet.
On Friday, November 6, 2026, Tennessee rock band Kings of Leon released their 10th studio album, O My Beloved, featuring a vulnerable, stripped-back sound distinct from their previous work.
Frontman Caleb Followill changed his songwriting tactics after a foot injury forced the band to cancel their 2025 tour, using the downtime to pursue more honest creative material.
The band ditched the songwriting "tricks" used for radio-friendly hits to focus on Nashville roots and personal family stories. Caleb described the material as "completely honest" with listeners.
Reflecting on their 23-year career, the group feels they have surpassed expectations, allowing them to create this intimate, self-produced record documenting their lives rather than chasing commercial success.
Kings of Leon will perform at the British Airways Arc in London on November 10, with future plans possibly including a 20-year anniversary celebration for their 2007 breakthrough album, Because Of The Times.
