Kent man, 21, pleads guilty to plot to fight for ISIS
Mirreh admitted plotting to travel to Syria for ISIS, and prosecutors said the conspiracy could bring up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

- Mirreh plotted to travel to Syria to fight for the Islamic State, but FBI agents arrested him at his Kent residence on Nov. 4, 2025, as he prepared to board a flight to Istanbul.
- Communications between the coconspirators revealed plans to participate in "jihad," including physical training and weapons, as Mirreh faced charges alongside 19-year-old Tomas-Kaan Jimenez-Guzel, originally indicted in the District of New Jersey.
- District Judge Richard scheduled sentencing for Oct. 16, 2026, where Mirreh faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for providing material support to a designated terrorist organization.
- Earlier this month, the case transferred to the Western District of Washington, following October 2025 arrests of conspiracy members in Dearborn, Michigan, who were plotting a domestic attack for the Islamic State.
