SUFC News: Former Blades Striker Sacked by Crawley After Seven Months in Charge
The club said the move came after seven defeats in 10 league games and growing fan protests over Crawley’s winless home form.
Crawley Town Football Club confirmed on Wednesday that Head Coach Colin Kazim-Richards, Assistant Head Coach Julian Gray, and Director of Football Erdem Konyar have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.
The dismissals followed a 3-2 home defeat to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday, leaving the Red Devils bottom of League Two and six points from safety after losing seven of their opening 10 matches.
Fans chanted "time to go" and "sacked in the morning" during the loss, marking the second successive home match supporters called for the manager's dismissal amid a winless home campaign.
In an official statement, the club thanked the trio for "securing the club's EFL status at the end of last season" during a challenging period for the organization.
The search is now underway for a new manager who can turn the club's fortunes around and prevent the threat of their 16-year stay in the Football League coming to an end.
