K-pop's BTS may still be able to perform while doing military service

Summary by Ground News
BTS might still be able to perform overseas while serving in South Korea's military, according to the country's defense minister. All South Korean men between the ages of 18-28 are required to serve in the nation's military for at least 18 months. In 2018, the nation passed a revision of the Military Service Act that allowed K-pop stars to postpone their military service until they turn 30. South Korea debates shortening mandatory military service for K-pop stars to three weeks. Military service is hugely controversial in South Korea where all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 28 must fulfil their duties. The issue is coming sharply into focus with the oldest member of band, Jin, turning 30 next year.
