Jury awards Hampton woman who sued Peninsula jail over unsanitary conditions, towels ‘caked in fecal matter’

Summary by Ground News
Antoinette Weathers, 63, was taken into custody at the regional jail in June 2022 to serve a three-week sentence on assault and DUI charges. But when she lacked toilet paper for several days, she testified, guards repeatedly ignored her requests to bring her more. She testified that she complained to other inmates about how she wasn't getting new toilet paper in her cell. Weathers' attorney, Blake Weiner of Richmond, said the lack of toilet paper caused Weathers to develop a rash.
