Power outage halts Tokyo commuter train lines, affecting 673,000 passengers

- Railway staff first discovered the outage shortly before 4 a.m., attributing it to a substation power transfer attempt, while a fire near Tamachi Station at about 8 a.m. is under investigation.
- The Keihin-Tohoku Line briefly resumed around 7 a.m. but was suspended again, while firefighters and rail staff evacuated stranded passengers and five people were taken to hospital.
