Islamists succeed in Jordan's parliamentary elections

The Islamist Islamic Action Front won 31 of the 138 seats in the elections for the lower house of Jordan's parliament, AFP reports. The country's largest opposition party thus became the most successful political party in Saturday's election. However, due to the electoral system, pro-government forces and tribal groupings will retain the dominant position in the House, Reuters reports.
