High Street Chain to Open 'Important' New Department Across Its 36 UK Shops
The refreshed departments combine sportswear, wearable technology and recovery products as John Lewis invests £800 million across 36 UK stores.
John Lewis Partnership is relaunching sports and wellbeing departments across its 36 UK stores as part of a wider £800 million investment program.
Managing Director Peter Ruis called the relaunch an "important step," noting that customers now "shop around a goal" rather than traditional retail categories.
Spanning up to 5,000 square feet, new departments will feature brands including Nike, Peloton, and Garmin, alongside free gait analysis services for shoppers.
The transformation is already complete at John Lewis Oxford Street, with future redevelopments scheduled for Liverpool, Cheadle, and Glasgow stores.
John Lewis believes this positions it as the first UK retailer to unify sportswear, recovery products, and AI-powered fitness services into one destination.
