The solemn act of beatification was carried out on the premises in front of the National Shrine, Basilica of the Seventh-Empress in Šastina-Stražy by Italian Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Vatican Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.

Slovakia has another blessed one, Ján Havlík. He died in 1965 at the age of 37 as a result of torture in communist prisons.
