Jet2 Issues Hand Luggage Update for Bradford as New Europe-Wide Rules Are Confirmed
Passengers continued to Nice on a replacement Jet2 aircraft after the Boeing 737 returned to Manchester following an unexpected technical glitch.
A Jet2 flight bound for Nice from Manchester Airport returned safely yesterday after pilots encountered a "technical issue" at 37,000ft, diverting over the Channel without injuries.
Pilots executed a U-turn shortly after reaching cruising altitude following an "unexpected technical glitch," landing the Boeing 737-800 at Manchester just under three hours after its 1.23pm departure.
Passengers continued their journey to France aboard a replacement aircraft at approximately 4pm, eventually arriving in Nice at 7.38pm safely.
Separately, Jet2 confirmed passengers will retain their free 10kg hand luggage allowance despite new European Commission rules set for 2027, a policy 80% of customers cite as key.
CEO Steve Heapy welcomed the regulatory move toward transparency, stating the airline has "always believed in doing the right thing by customers" and that upcoming rules will not change their offerings.
