New Grand Tour Series 'Pandering' to Jeremy Clarkson Fans Says Scathing Review
The new hosts said Clarkson’s blessing came with a blunt warning as the six-episode Prime Video reboot begins with supercar races and jet-plane challenges.
Prime Video launched the new season of The Grand Tour today, Friday, September 4, 2026, with hosts Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland taking over the motoring adventure series.
The series marks a transition from the original trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, who concluded their run in 2024 after more than two decades presenting motoring shows.
Across America, Malaysia, and Angola, the hosts tackle dangerous missions including racing fighter jets and testing sports cars; Bourgeois admitted afterward, "This isn't going to be easy."
Original host Clarkson gave the new team blunt advice to not "f*** it up" before handing over; Bourgeois later said the endorsement was "like a superpower for us."
Critics note the show feels "deliberately low stakes" as it develops its identity, though executive producer Andy Wilman confirmed work is ongoing for another series.
