Jane Lynch Kate Flannery bring down the mid-century house
The pair mixed comedy with 1960s jazz and melodies, drawing praise for their chemistry and vocal performances.
On Aug. 23, Emmy Award-winner Jane Lynch and Kate Flannery brought their comedy and music tour, 'The Trouble With Angels,' to the Federal Way Performing Arts and Entertainment Center.
The longtime friends perform a cabaret-style show featuring jazz and melodies from the 1960s, a decade they celebrated with jokes about now being in their 60s.
Musical director Tony Guerrero led a jazz band accompanying the duo as they performed 'One Note Samba,' 'Far From The Home,' and the theme from 'Celebrity Bowling.'
While Lynch held her deadpan straight-man role, Flannery zig-zagged across the stage channeling her 'The Office' character Meredith, earning sustained laughter from attendees.
Named after the 1960s Patty Duke film, 'The Trouble With Angels' tour aims to introduce younger audiences to that era's comedy and musical style, with the show proving a hit.
