Jalen Duren is eyeing 1 team amid feeling 'disrespected' by Pistons
Duren is feeling disrespected in stalled extension talks and may consider a one-year qualifying offer as the Kings emerge as a possible landing spot.
- On Monday, ESPN reported that restricted free agent Jalen Duren feels "disrespected" by the Detroit Pistons as contract talks stall, with Duren seeking over $200 million while Detroit offers around $190 million.
- Duren intentionally distanced himself from the team this summer, missing a minicamp coordinated by Cade Cunningham and a Labor Day party hosted by owner Tom Gores. Marc Spears reported he is bringing a "black cloud" into training camp.
- Sacramento GM Scott Perry, who previously drafted Duren for the New York Knicks, fuels the center's interest in the Kings. Duren reportedly holds strong affinity for Perry and the organization.
- Facing an October 1 deadline, the All-NBA Third Team center is considering signing a one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer, which would make Duren an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
- Training camp begins in two weeks, leaving the Pistons limited time to resolve the standoff and retain their core talent, as Detroit holds Duren's restricted free agent rights.
