Iowa Signs Athletic Director Beth Goetz to Contract Extension Through Early 2032
The extension follows a school year that brought four individual national titles and $103.7 million in athletics fundraising, the university said.
On Thursday, the University of Iowa announced that Athletic Director Beth Goetz signed a contract extension keeping her in the role through January 31, 2032.
This extension follows a record-breaking 2025-26 academic year where Iowa generated $103.7 million in athletics fundraising, while Hawkeye athletes earned four individual national championships and three Big Ten championships.
Effective September 1, 2026, Goetz's guaranteed base salary increases from $850,000 to $1.4 million, a 65% raise aligning her compensation with the Big Ten Conference ADs median of approximately $1.45 million.
Under her leadership, Iowa navigated complex NIL and revenue-sharing landscapes while planning renovations for Carver-Hawkeye Arena and hiring Ben McCollum to lead the men's basketball program.
President Barbara Wilson praised the director, stating Goetz brings "vision and integrity" to the department, as Goetz expressed she is "incredibly grateful" to continue serving the Hawkeyes.
