U.S. federal prosecutors have indicted a Chinese woman for collecting information on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party and acting as an unlicensed agent for a foreign government. The woman also admitted to having contact with officials from the Ministry of State Security.
On September 11, U.S. prosecutors in Detroit filed charges against a Chinese citizen, alleging that she contacted current and former U.S. government officials in an attempt to gather information for the Chinese Communist Party's intelligence agencies. This is the latest in a series of counterintelligence cases that have raised national security concerns in the United States.
