Serious failures identified in the Gynecology and Obstetrics service of ULS Arrábida, which operated in full only two days between April and May 2025. The rotation model failed due to the shortage of specialists, compromising the safety of the care provided.
The General Inspectorate of Health Activities (IGAS) pointed to flaws in the planning of the Gynecology and Obstetrics service of the Local Health Unit of Arrabida and in the articulation with other units, concluding that the turnover model failed.
According to the inspection report, during the audit period, the emergency service was fully operational on only two days.
