Brazil's annual inflation eased in July, broadly in line with market expectations, data from statistics agency IBGE showed on Tuesday, returning to the central bank's tolerance range as the effects of tight monetary policy continued to filter through the economy.
Inflation is beginning to slow down. According to Statistics data, the annual rate of inflation fell to 8.2% in July, the first significant drop in the last year.
On Tuesday (11), the dollar in sight closed the day high by 1.04%, at R$ 5,1639, higher closing value since July 3 (R$ 5,1688)
The homologous change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), or inflation rate, was 3% in July, a rate that is lower than that recorded in the previous month.
