- On Saturday, three conservation agencies evacuated a 20-year-old male orangutan in Hampangen village, Central Kalimantan, on Borneo island, as groups rescue dozens of endangered orangutans from rampant wildfires across Indonesia.

- "The evacuation process was carried out with great caution," agencies said. "After the orangutan was sedated, the medical team immediately conducted a health examination before taking the animal to the... rehabilitation center," it said.
- Indonesia's transport ministry reported around 2,400 flights across the country have been affected by haze since mid-August. Reduced visibility around airports has caused delays, disruptions, and flight cancellations.
- Pollution levels ranged from unhealthy to very unhealthy across Southeast Asia on Sunday. Swiss-based air quality monitor IQAir ranked Singapore and Kuala Lumpur among the world's top five most polluted cities as fires on Borneo and Sumatra, intensified by El Nino, emit smoke.
