Imran's Vision Has Returned to 'Almost Normal' After Treatment, Adiala SP Tells SC
A jail superintendent’s report says the former prime minister’s eye improved after treatment from specialists and lists 39 check-ups since November 2023.
On Monday, the Rawalpindi Central Jail superintendent submitted a report to the Supreme Court stating that Imran Khan's eye vision has returned to "almost normal" following treatment at top public sector hospitals.
Diagnosed earlier with central retinal vein occlusion , Khan received care from specialists at PIMS Islamabad and Alshifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi, with a summary documenting 39 check-ups since November 2023.
Ophthalmologists Dr Arif Khan and Dr Nadeem Qureshi confirmed on August 10 that Khan's lens was clear and haemorrhages had resolved, though latest consultation noted heightened anxiety with "normal ECG".
Jail authorities alleged that attorney Salman Akram Raja violated Rule-265 of the Pakistan Prison Rules, citing misuse of "privilege of interview by advancing political agenda on media after holding meetings with convicted prisoner."
A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the case on Tuesday, as the superintendent appealed for the criminal appeal to be dismissed as "devoid of merit.
